The natural complexity of nature

I think we often undervalue the complexity of nature. Within each leaf is a network of cellular photosynthetic complexity. Each stem is a structure of transportation and environmental adaptability. Each seed is a protective vessel, ensuring the continuation of life.

As we constantly strive towards a sustainable future, evolutionary design in plants is likely to become ever more important in influencing engineering and architectural design.

As a species, we share the same reliance on water and sunlight as all life, and so integrating the wisdom of these sunlight catchers and water storers into the designs of our future, will no doubt be looked back on as an essential step we took in securing a sustainable planet.
